The result is an injection of co-ordinated warm colours that encapsulates the era of the property through the use of modern bold prints and colours. A fusing of new and old which merges classic design features with the vibrance of contemporary.
Featuring windows with roman blinds in voile, textured and patterned fabrics, I worked with each window, mixing fabrics, and working with a combination of both blinds and curtains for a sumptuous, homely feel.
Furniture such as a chaise lounge, armchairs and vintage stools were reupholstered, new sofas commissioned and glass lights installed throughout in colours that compliment the stained glass and vintage tiles on the fireplaces.

“For the last three years we have been renovating my partner’s former childhood home, an Edwardian house in Didsbury. It has been a labour of love in all senses of the word. When it came to the internal decorations Kathryn Smith Interiors became involved.
We had our own ideas as to the colour palette, style and usage of each individual room. In addition, we had a great deal of much-loved furniture belonging to both sets of parents and ourselves that we wished to upcycle.
Kathryn was patient and listened. Kathryn then went away and came back with suggestions, yet never once made us feel like the vision we had for our home was misguided. She prepared mood boards of paint colours, fabrics for blinds, curtains, cushions & wall coverings, lighting options, flooring and layouts for the individual rooms as to where furniture would be best placed. She helped design our kitchen layout and is in the process of designing and sourcing a media unit for us. Kathryn liaised with suppliers and craftsmen on our behalf, so any internal work was undertaken seamlessly. Likewise, any issues arising were dealt with by Kathryn. Communication was first class, and concise quotes were provided throughout in line with budget.
